Blue Planet 3 – Harlequin Shrimp

On 1 November, Blue Planet III premiered on the BBC. Luca is one of the primary cinematographers on Tropical Seas, and the harlequin shrimp sequence in the first episode was filmed by him in Tulamben.

Parman was the safety diver. Rovi and Gede handled the equipment through the shoot. Widi and Sintia took care of the permits, the logistics, and the clip selection. It was a team effort, built on the hard work the whole crew has put in over the last few years.

Filming that sequence meant working in moving water with wild animals, and neither of those things behaves on cue. We are proud of the finished sequence, and prouder still that Sir David Attenborough is the voice narrating the the biggest ocean based nature documentary series.
